Personal Injury Results

The Firm obtained a $2.8 Million Wrongful Death verdict in DuPage County. Our client was a 72 year-old man with stage IV lung cancer who was receiving radiation therapy at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. He was sedated for radiation treatment, but Defendant failed to secure his legs to the treatment table, allowing him to roll over in his sleep during treatment and fall to the floor, fracturing his neck and skull and suffering a brain bleed. He died from these injuries five days later. The jury deliberated for two hours before returning the verdict.

The firm settled an automobile accident case for $1.1 Million. Our client was hit head on and required a cervical fusion surgery. The matter settled after party depositions, and before expert depositions.

The firm settled a wrongful death claim on behalf of a woman who suffered fatal injuries as a result of a home fire. She was a tenant in an attic apartment in Cook County and the property owners were negligent renting her an apartment that did not meet city codes, which prevented her from escaping the fire. The matter settled for the policy limits of $300,000.00.

In addition to the above mentioned cases, the Firm settled an additional $1.3 Million in auto cases during the month of July.
