Full Size SUVs Named Safest Cars on the Road

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has studied vehicle safety for the years 2012-2015 and recently announced that there were 11 cars and SUV’s that were not involved in a single fatal crash during those four years. Here’s the list:

· Audi Q7 SUV

· Volkswagen Tiguan 2 wheel drive SUV

· Toyota Tacoma double cab, long-bed 4 wheel drive pick up

· Mazda CX-9, 2 wheel drive SUV

· Audi A6 all-wheel drive

· Jeep Cherokee all-wheel-drive SUV

· BMW 535 i and is

· BMW 535 xi

· Lexus RS 350 2 wheel drive SUV

· Lexus CT 200h

· Mercedes Benz M-class SUV (GLE Class)

With a list like this, it is not surprising that IIHS also concluded that full-size luxury SUV’s are the safest vehicles on the road. Logically, bigger, more expensive cars have more room and budget for safety.
