Daniel C. Fabbri
As an accomplished litigation attorney, Dan Fabbri brings his diverse business and financial experience to bear advocating on behalf of a diverse array of clients. Dan’s wide ranging legal practice includes commercial litigation (such as tortious interference, breach of contract, unfair competition and antitrust); personal injury; appeals; and environmental contamination cases.
Dan has obtained numerous favorable verdicts and settlements for his clients. In January 2012, Dan obtained a verdict of over $302,000.00 from a Cook County jury on behalf of 8 families in Tinley Park, IL whose homes suffered basement flooding as a result of the actions of adjacent landowners.
Some examples of past verdicts and settlements Dan has obtained for his clients include a jury verdict in a dram shop personal injury case in excess of $346,000.00, which was upheld by the Illinois Appellate court in a ruling issued in January, 2010. Also in 2010, Dan and another firm attorney secured a $1,350,000.00 settlement in a personal injury case for a brain injury suffered in a downstate car accident. In 2008, Dan obtained a $280,000.00 settlement in a personal injury case on behalf of a man injured when his car was struck by a semi-truck in suburban Elgin, and Dan also won a substantial jury verdict on behalf of a patron injured in a Chicago-area casino when he fell on a wet floor where no warning was provided to customers. Dan was also part of the trial team that obtained a medical malpractice jury verdict in excess of $4,700,000.00 for a woman who lost both her legs as a result of medical negligence after an abdominal surgery.
Dan’s past success as a trial attorney also include being an integral member of the legal team that won a multi-million dollar jury verdict in federal court in an unfair competition case. The commercial matter was on behalf of a local family-owned business and involved: dumpster diving, bribery, and other acts of unfair competition by its main competitor.
Dan also has substantial experience in environmental contamination cases, having administered tens of millions of dollars in class action settlements in cases involving TCE, PCE, VC and arsenic contamination.
Beyond the litigation matters Dan handles, he routinely counsels business organizations, both for profit and not-for-profit, on various complex corporate law issues. These clients include an international professional society, large corporations, as well as small family businesses.
Dan holds a B.S. in finance from the University of Illinois, and received his J.D., Cum Laude, from DePaul University’s College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. Additionally, Dan holds an M.B.A., with distinction, from DePaul University’s Kellstadt School of Business. Dan joined the Firm in 2003, is licensed to practice in Illinois, and is admitted as a member of the federal trial bar for the Northern District of Illinois. Dan is also a certified arbitrator for the Cook County and DuPage County Mandatory Arbitration Programs, and routinely acts in this capacity helping to resolve a variety of matters in both counties.
Dan has been selected as an Illinois “Rising Star” for 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012 by Superlawyers Magazine.
